Christmas party #1

This weekend, the Selby's hosted their annual Ginger bread house contest party. It is always a blast and so much fun to see what everyone comes up with. The last 3 years, Jeff and I haven't had much success...we are determined to get better though. The first year, we did a Bait Shop, last year was an RV, and this year was an igloo. I think this was the first year we didn't score a single vote. Oh well, we will start planning on next year's and maybe get the top prize.

Jeff and I did an Igloo (well, mostly Jeff did the work...I took care of the candy...eating mostly), but my job was to add accessories to our igloo, but I didn't do a very good job. I came up with a canoe and a Christmas tree. As you can see, no one voted for us *sniff*.

These 3 would be of Buccees Convenient Store. That would be Buccee in the first picture, bathrooms in picture #2 and aerial view for #3.

Another group did different Bible stories. This is the group that won....we did what the title of theirs told us to do.

(L-R) Jesus at the temple with a whip and tables turned over, cross with a crown of thorns, Jesus feeding 5, 000, Manger scene, and in the middle, Jesus and His disciples at the last supper, and the last one, Jesus with the woman at the well.

The above three are of Peanuts. The yellow clump is Charlie Brown and Snoopy is lying on top of the dog house.

This is a camp site in Candy Cane Forrest. The red man on the ground is being attacked...notice the blood drops.

The writing underneath says, "Shaft in a hot tub with white women."
This particular gingerbread house started out as an igloo like ours, but they ended up doing Joe vs. The Volcano (below) and Shaft in a hot tub.

These next three are of a Vegas Wedding Chapel. There was a drive through window for an 'I do' and the drive way continued to the other side that says, 'I don't.' It was called the Alpha and Omega wedding Chapel. (Beginning and End). Very clever!

Thanksgiving 2008

On our way back to Houston, Joseph was in the sun a little and this was his solution. He took his blanket and covered his head.

Thanksgiving was spent in Dallas this year and we were blessed as usual. Here are some snapshots from Thanksgiving weekend and a couple of weeks ago when I went up to Dallas to surprise my mom.

Grammy and Papaw hooked him up with some Giraffes this weekend. He didn't put them down very often. He slept with them every night after he got them.

Stacey's dog, Max, wanting some of Joseph's cookies. He did get one out of Joseph's hand when he wasn't paying attention. Very cute dog too!

Still hanging on to the Giraffes.

Joseph on Uncle Josh's tractor.

This is what it looks like when you have a mouth full of powdered donuts.

"Papaw tractor ride," is heard a lot when we are at my parents house.

Chillin' at the bar with a water on the rocks.

He just bonked his head, that is the reason for the tears.

This is totally my face.

Elmo's World

We all have favorite things our little one's do around the house and this is a new favorite of mine. When Elmo's World comes on, Joseph will dart to his room and find his Elmo and hold him the entire time Elmo is on. The first day he did it, I just started laughing because I was in the living room cleaning and he came dashing out of our room. I thought he was looking for me, so I said, "I'm right here, " he just kept on running straight for his room. He then came around the corner running with Elmo and that is when I heard the song.

11/21/08

(L-R) 1. Confirming that he is a boy! 2. Profile Picture
3. Face picture. His left arm is going over his head.
He still looks long and skinny and I thought today that his lips looked just like Joseph's...I so anxious to see what he is going to look like.

Today's ultrasound went great. The fluid cyst has gone away and I found out today that they usually disappear after 25 weeks. They checked and measured him again and he looks healthy. We are so thankful and thank you for all your prayers. During the the last ultrasound they said he was a whopper, so I asked if he was measuring larger than 28 weeks. The technician said I was 28 weeks 4 days and he is measuring 29 weeks 1 day...not that big. He is at 2 lbs. 11 oz, apparently right on target.

Other news, our baby/big boy is 23 months today. *sniff* One more month of having a 1 year old.. so sad. I have had so much fun with him being one, but am looking forward to the new year and new challenges that are on the horizon.

Halloween

Trunk or Treat was pretty fun. We just couldn't think of anything to decorate our trunk with, so we just took our jack-o-lantern and stand and placed it behind our car. Pretty boring. Maybe next year will be more of a success. Joseph did really good wearing his outfit. He didn't complain about the boots or the guns hanging off to the side...oh, he was a sheriff for Halloween. I put some real Wranglers on him and the poor little couldn't sit down. I got them on, put the belt buckle on and when he plopped down, I heard an 'uncomfortable' type sigh come from him. I took them off and put a more comfortable pair of jeans on him.
We ended the night with a party at the Counterman's house. There was Juanita's famous and delicious confetti chili and tons of other great stuff. We had a great time and I am so sad I didn't bring my camera inside to capture some of the hilarity that took place. Now that I think about, it is probably a good thing I didn't capture some of the things on camera. Let me just say this about some of the wonderful and respectable people there....I had no idea. You girls were an absolute blast!

Our first attempt to get just the boys wasn't a success so the mom's had to get in the picture too.

The mom's attempting to get the boys to sit and get a picture taken. John was not wanting to have anything to do with the picture. And I have no idea who the Spiderman kid is....we had asked him if we could get a picture and he said ok, but I didn't realize he hadn't gotten out of the way.

I just thought this was cute. Him losin' his holster.

I have no idea.

My little Sheriff. (Thanks Linds for letting us borrow the belt and boots.)
And this is what it looks like at the end of the night....soaked, no guns, no badge, and shirt untucked.
