2011 In Review

I can't believe 2011 is already over. When I look back on the year, I can't help but feel a little relief. Every year, especially with children, has excitement and challenges, but when I reviewed the year of 2011, it was a very difficult year. When we started the year, Nathan was 2 months and not sleeping real well at night and Jeff was traveling quite a bit. I clearly remember last New Year's Eve in the recliner, completely exhausted from the lack of sleep. Even though the year didn't get off to the best start, we did have some highlights from the year. Here are a few (some are not real exciting, but stand out from 2011).
  • Nathan started sleeping through the night ;-).
  • Christian fractured his arm after falling back in a patio chair two days before turning 2.
  • Going to Disney World to see my cousin get married.
  • Staying in an awesome resort at Disney World.
  • Jeff taking Joseph to Sea World.
  • Jeff and I getting away for a long weekend to Galveston.
  • Going to Schlitterbahn with my hubby.
  • Nathan having to go to the ER for rapid breathing and low oxygen.
  • Trick or treating with the boys.
  • Becoming members of Covenant Community Church.
  • Meeting new friends and awesome families at our new church.
  • Running our first 5k and not stopping (My time and place are IRRELEVANT).
  • Camping, Staying in a cabin at Beavers Bend.
  • Celebrating Nathan turning 1.
  • The Plagues of Illnesses for what seemed like two months.
  • Nathan getting pneumonia.
  • Celebrating Joseph turning 5.
  • Jeff and I celebrated 7 years of marriage on December 31.
  • Jeff not having to travel for 6 months.
  • SURVIVING as a mother of three boys.
As we have started year 2012, I have some, not necessarily resolutions, but some goals/things that I really want to focus on. They are:
  • Eating better as a family.
  • Better at time management.
  • Consistent with my exercise.
  • Consistent with my prayer and quiet time.
  • Remind myself daily to "be slow to anger and abounding in Love".
  • Show my family unconditional love.
Some things I am looking forward to this year:
  • We plan on signing Joseph up for t-ball.
  • Christian turning 3.
  • Joseph starting school.
  • Our family trip this Summer.  We don't have anything specific, but we are throwing around the ideas of Colorado or Sea World in San Antonio.
Hope you have had a great start to your New Year.
